On his debut album, this up-and-coming producer/rapper out of East Oakland needs only seventeen minutes to showcase his chops. Boasting collaborative projects with Earl Sweatshirt, Mavi, and Pink Siifu, ovrkast. contributes his own twist on art-rap here, with a tinge of gospel influence. His laid-back delivery perfectly matches the shuffling beats and smooth keys present on many of the album's backing tracks, best demonstrated on highlights Face and Outro. On an interesting bit of AllPraise, ovrkast. muffles his slurred vocals so much that they get distorted into what amounts to be a percussive element. All in all, the strong production and unique flairs make it interesting, albeit short, listen.
